A 1) We get a good variety of people to our dances. We will get people
that enjoy the type of dance music that you can't get at any of the local
nightclubs. We get people that just don't want to be at the local meat
market. Since we started these dances, we have never had a problem, which
is why we get a lot of people coming back. It is a very safe place to
go to.
Q 2) What is the average age group?
A 2) The average age group is approximately 30 and over. Every dance is
different and at some dances we can have a younger crowd and on another
an older crowd, but it is usually a good mix.
Q 3) Do couples also attend these dances?
A 3) Yes, we do get a small percentage of couples that attend our
dances. They like the type of music they can dance to, know it is a fun
atmosphere, and inexpensive. Also, we do get couples that have met at
a previous dance, that come back because of the fun time they had before..
That doesn't take away from it being a singles dance because still over
90 percent of the people attending are single.
Q 4) I am single and don't have anyone to go with. I don't feel comfortable going alone. Do many people go to these dances by themselves?
A 4) Yes, this being a singles dance, a good majority of people will go by themselves. After you have been to a few, chances are you are liable to meet some new friends and so you will have people to sit with when you come the next time. Also, if you feel uncomfortable, then let us know at the door and we will try our best to find some people to sit with.
Dance Lessons!!
We usually have free introductory dance lessons before every dance. They are put on by Gael and Gary Wells. They have done a lot of teaching through out the years and do a great job. It is also a good time to come out and mingle a bit before the dance. We get anywhere from about 10 people to up to 50 people taking lessons. The lessons go from 8:00 to 9:00 PM.
